01/ THE STUDIO
FOUNDER & DESIGNER
Lauren is a Nashville-based interior designer and the founder of Wiho Studio, an independent studio bringing hospitality-grade storytelling to hotels, restaurants, retail, and beyond - spaces built for people to gather, stay, and return to.
Her path started in Nashville's hospitality design scene, where she spent years shaping projects like Hotel 1928 and Field & Stream from earliest concept through sourcing, documentation, and installation. That hands-on foundation - understanding not just how a space should look, but how it actually runs - is what led to her first independent commissions, including designing Ranger Station's retail stores in New York City and Charleston.
Lauren's approach is rooted in story. She's drawn to warm materials, natural finishes, and the character that only vintage pieces and well-worn textures can bring - layering each space until it feels less designed than discovered. Her curiosity outside of interiors - travel, cooking, art, the small rituals of hospitality - shows up in the work itself: an eye for what makes a place worth returning to, and a genuine interest in how people will actually move through and feel inside a room.
Today, Wiho Studio works independently across hospitality, retail, and select project types beyond - bringing that same layered, story-first approach to every space, at every scale.

02 / THE FOUNDATION
Wiho Studio
Wiho Studio brings together two parts of founder Lauren Wihongi's story: her family name, rooted in the Maori language of New Zealand, and Wedgewood-Houston - known locally as WeHo - the Nashville neighborhood where her interior design career took shape. The name holds both where she comes from and the place that helped her find her footing.
It's a fitting foundation for a studio built on the same idea: that a space carries meaning when it holds more than one story at once.
