CHIEF’S
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE
Chief’s on Broadway gives an 1890 building at the corner of Broadway and 2nd Avenue a new life as six floors of live music, food, and late nights.
Rather than erase what was already there, the project worked with the history and character of the building to create something that feels at home on Broadway.
Each floor offers a different reason to stay - from intimate bars and gathering spaces to a ticketed music venue and a rooftop overlooking downtown Nashville. At the time of opening, the building was also home to Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ, created in partnership with James Beard Award-winning pitmaster Rodney Scott.
The quirks and constraints of the original structure became part of the design, helping each space find its own identity while still belonging to the whole. The result feels layered rather than themed - a new chapter for a building that already had plenty of stories to tell.
LAUREN’S ROLE
Lauren led Chief’s from the first design ideas through the final finish installation during her time with AJ Capital. Her involvement went well beyond the drawings, extending into project management and hands-on coordination on site to see every detail through to the end.
